Review on Casio Baby-G Standard Digital watch as seen on SNSD.

Ever since I knew Girls’ Generation would be modeling them, I am very excited to buy their Casio Baby-G watch. I’m a big fan of watches and I’m very careful on choosing which watch should I buy as I make it an accessory. While my parents and I are choosing which watch should I buy from Baby-G, I decided to get the digital one for a change. I’ve been wearing standard-analog watches, so I wanted to try the digital.

What are the specs for the digital Casio Baby-G watch?
Digital clock
Timer
Daylight Saving Time setter
Alarm clock
Built-in light
Hexagon-shaped container

So I’m going to review the standard-digital one only since that’s the item that I bought from the watch store.

For the advantages of this watch, first of all, it can be worn by both men and women. I’ve seen a lot guys wearing the digital watch especially the watch that Sooyoung’s model. Of course, the guys chose a boyish type color like black and blue. So guys can actually wear something that our girls endorsed. It’s also very easy to read the time because it’s digital. You can also see how many seconds have passed already. There’s also a built-in timer that you can use for Physics laboratory activities and Gym classes. The timer also has this program that you can split-time. It is also water-proof, so you don’t have to worry if it gets wet. One advantage for those who live in the US or Canada can use the daylight saving time setter for summer and winter time. Well, I haven’t tried using that since I live in Asia. There’s a built-in light that you can use at night or when it’s dark. Just press the letter G and the light will turn on. The watch also comes in a cute hexagon tin container.

Drawbacks:

– Don’t choose a white one because the back really gets dirty after you use it and if you have a pretty dusty place, don’t buy a white one. Try buying the black watch or a dark colored watch. You should always place the watch inside the tin case so it won’t be dirty and make sure to clean it with wipes weekly.

Don’t choose a watch that has a neon background. The digital clock is very hard to see during daylight.

– Don’t use the alarm clock for waking you up in the morning. One time I used it, I actually didn’t hear the alarm. Use the alarm for reminding purposes only when your at work or in school like if you’re going to drink medicine. That would help! And this is my first time using a digital watch that has an alarm on it, I don’t really know how to use it. So better read the manual before using the watch.

All in all, the watch comes in handy all the time especially when you’re a student. Casio Baby-G watches comes in a variety of designs and colors, so make sure to choose a watch that’s comfortable for you and that suits your taste.

Review: Forever 21 Faux Suede Platform Mary Janes
POSTED IN Articles, Footwear, Pumps, Reviews | TAGGED: ,

Review on the Forever 21 Faux Suede Platform Mary Janes as seen Taeyeon and Tiffany.

Forever 21 also offer the same shoe in different colors and fabrics such as a Patent Platform Mary Jane seen on Tiffany in the Bean Pole Event.

Specs:

  • Round toe.
  • Heels are approximately 4.73” (12 cm).
  • Adjustable buckle strap.
  • Softly padded insole lined in textured outsole.

First of all, I have had my eye on these shoes since the day I tried them on in the store and hesitated on buying them. However, upon seeing it on Taeyeon backstage in Music Core and on Tiffany during Hong Rok-ki’s Wedding, I called every Forever 21 branch in our country to see if they had them. In almost all the stores, they were sold out until luckily I found a branch nearby where they had a few stocks left with my size. Now that I have bought them I now know why they sold like hotcakes:

It’s sleek and simple Mary Jane style is wearable in jeans, leggings, shorts or skirts. The Mary Janes give off a very feminine yet sophisticated look even if you want to dress up or dress down. They elongate the legs without adding too much height and add poise to every stance.

Unlike a stiletto, these chunky heels give support in terms of balance so every step is sturdy because of its wide base. Forever 21’s Mary Janes are perfect for the girls who what the extra height without baring the pain of tiptoeing all night. Because of the platform, the angle of the feet is just right that it supports the arch of the foot thus you can last in these shoes for hours.

Drawbacks:

–       Its suede fabric can easily show if you’ve stepped into something dusty (regardless of color) but can easily be brushed off and be good as new.

–       The weight of the shoe is quite heavy so it may cause you to stomp a bit if wearing the shoes for the first time. It is not advisable for too much walking and it may make you unsteady the first time you walk in them.

Consensus: Like every other pair of heels it needs some time of getting used to, so expect some wobbling and some pain in the balls of your foot.

Review: Samsung Galaxy S III
POSTED IN Phones, Reviews, Taeyeon, Yoona | TAGGED:

As seen on Taeyeon and Yoona. Available @ Best Buy$199.99

The flagship of Samsung’s Galaxy line-up, the Galaxy S III represents the pinnacle of Samsung engineering(at least until the Note 2 came out), and having sold in excess of 20 million units in less than 100 days, is obviously not a dud when it comesto sales. Yoona and Taeyeon themselves are part of that number, showing that the phone attracted the attention of Girls’ Generation themselves. But just how good IS this device?I’ll be brief: it’s damn good. Why? I’ll explain.

Picking up the phone, you’ll notice one thing: it’s plastic. Not cheap plastic, but plastic nonetheless. Definitely a change from the solid-body that the iPhone 5 currently sports, and different that the polycarbonate that other similarly-priced phones have. Still, the ergonomics are great, and it definitely feels like it was designed to be held for long periods of time. Flipping it over, you’ll notice the beautiful 4.8 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, one of the larger ones out there. While not as sharp as Apple’s Retina display, it’s still very nice, and produces richly saturated colors, though some may find it too saturated for their liking. Other than that, it’s got the standard headphone jack, 3 physical buttons, and a volume rocker.

As for usability, it’s an Android phone, and it does what Android does best: allows users to tinker and change almost whatever they want. With a quad-core(dual-core in the United States) processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, this one of the fastest ones around. Anything you do, from gaming to web browsing to Tweeting happens almost within an instant, and with a larger than normal battery, allows for great battery life for a smartphone, though if you tend to be a constant phone checker, you might notice it draining faster, but still be able to get out a good 6-7 hours before hitting about 20-30% battery life. The Android app store has grown considerably, and while not as large as Apples, definitely offers something for everyone, and many Apple users will be able to find comparable apps to make the transition easier. With an 8-megapixel camera, it delivers great shots, though you’ll want to rely on an actual camera for those tricky night shots, or when you really need clarity. But as a basic snapshot camera, it excels, and also has the ability to record 1080p video, and with 16-64 GB’s of storage internally, and a microSDHC expansion slot, you never need to worry about running out of room for all your media.

So what are the cons? For one thing, it’s big. Not unbearable big, as the small-handed members like Taeyeon and Yoona use it, but for some, may be a bit unwieldy. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the build quality falls a little short, and feels more like a mid-range device, rather than a premium one. The display also isn’t as nice as the iPhone’s, and colors tend to be a have a bluish hue to them. When it comes to usability, Android’s customization is second to none, but some users may not need that much freedom, and it definitely is not as pick-up-and-play as Apple’s. Lastly, Samsung tends to be slow when it comes to updating, so while it’s starting to roll out Android 4.1 Jellybean, the next update could take several months to get ready, and Samsung has a history of forgoing updates at all.

Overall, this is definitely one of the best Android phones around, and if you want a switch from an iPhone, and don’t mind learning a new system, or you love Android and just want something bigger and better(but smaller than the Note 2), the Galaxy S III is the phone for you.

Review: Dr. Martens Pascal Boots
POSTED IN Boots, Hyoyeon, Reviews | TAGGED:

Review on Dr. Martens Pascal Boots as seen on Hyoyeon.

Dr. Martens offers a large range of boots that you can check out right here.

I bought these boots after a friend’s recommendation, and seeing how they were so stylish I did not think twice about it! Thank goodness these boots are absolutely amazing and I didn’t have to regret it.

I have a lot of good things to say about these boots so here they are:

The boots are very well made and are sturdy as the soles are sewn to the shoes instead of being glued on. They are also very durable and have lasted with me for about two years now. On top of that, they’re stylish and either match with your outfit, or make your outfit look better. They are absolutely comfortable and give great foot support, which is something i definitely look for in good shoes.

However, it does need some breaking in as it is leather and it’s quite stiff when you first buy it, but that’s only natural. Also, socks should be worn with these boots to avoid chafing of the back of your heel so it can get really hot when you wear them in the summer- it’s perfect in the winter! It’s pretty expensive too but you’re definitely paying for quality stuff

Thus, it’s a great pair of boots to invest in, considering it’s durability and the comfort it brings. I personally feel that these boots are a must-have and i’ll definitely be getting another pair soon!

Review: Harajuku Lovers Monster Space Age In-Ear Headphones
POSTED IN Headphones, Reviews, Sunny | TAGGED:

Review on the Harajuku Lovers Monster Space Age In-Ear Headphones as seen with  Sunny.

Here’s what comes with the earphones:

  • 5 clip-on body colors
  • Retractable cord keeper
  • Multiple eartip sizes
  • Heart-shaped compact case

Well, there are both good and bad sides to these cute and stylish headphones so i’ll just start with the advantages! These headphones are pretty comfortable, as all in-ear headphones are, and you can choose which size of the eartip fits your ear the most.

The sound quality is also pretty decent, considering it’s much cheaper than some other headphones such as Beats or even the Apple In-Ear Headphones.

In addition, the compact case is practical and convenient to store your headphones properly. I feel that the retractable cord keeper was a good idea but… well I’ll get to that soon.

Now for the disadvantages. One of the major drawbacks for these headphones is the retractable cord keeper. Despite the concept of it being clever in the way that it is supposed to avoid tangling, sometimes the wire gets tangled in the cord keeper, making it totally troublesome. Occasionally it even gets jammed and really messy. Also, it has a tendency to retract by itself when you’re walking, causing the earphones to get pulled out of your ears. Of course you’re meant to clip it on but seriously, it’s a little troublesome to keep having to clip it on all the time. It’s hard to patiently untangle the wire from the cord keeper.

Also, the paint on the earphones chips off pretty easily so you have to keep them properly when they’re not in use. ( Well, that’s what the case is for!)

Well all in all, the sound quality, the looks and the comfort of the headphones are fine but for me, the retractable cord keeper is a major drawback. Then again, I’m very impatient. So, if you’re fine with it then i think it would be a great investment!

Review: “The Face Shop” Face&it Radiance Dual Veil Concealer
POSTED IN Reviews, Seohyun | TAGGED:

Review on “The Face Shop” Face&it Radiance Dual Veil Concealer as seen with Seohyun.

SNSD’s maknae Seohyun has been deemed the face or endorser of “The Face Shop” cosmetics. Their product Face&it Radiance Dual Veil Concealer features the combination of a liquid concealer (with a sponge tip) and a cream concealer (which is shaped like a lipstick bullet) at the other side.

While I was looking through the store, the sales lady recommend this item for concealing dark circles, an imperfection I have and something I’ve been trying to fix, so I decided to buy it and see how it compares to my other concealer. As I used the product, I took note of the details:

Benefits:

– Both sides conceal very well. I noticed that the liquid concealer works better for dark circles, and the cream concealer works better for redness and blemishes.

– It does not crease on fine lines.

– Feels very lightweight when placed on skin. It makes your face look naturally clear and not like it’s too heavy on make up.

– It contains SPF20, which protects the skin from harmful sunlight and is really good for the eye area.

– The size and shape of the product is very convenient (it can fit in make up bags or small clutches for touch ups).

– It’s a great substitute for foundation! As a college student, I don’t have a lot of time to put on make up, the product conceals everything very well, I usually just put this concealer on different areas of my face, layer it with powder then I’m done. So this product will definitely help people with busy schedules.

Drawbacks:

– It only comes in three shades (picture of shades here). I got shade NB21, which is the second shade. The concealer is made for Asian skin tones (which is mostly fair); as a result, it won’t work well for those with darker skin tones.

– The cream side is a bit fragile. It sometimes feels like it would break off when I swipe it on my face too hard.

Overall, this is a perfect mix of a liquid and cream concealer, it blends very well and it gives the face a brighter and healthier look.

Review: Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Ballerina Flats
POSTED IN Flat Shoes, Jessica, Reviews | TAGGED:

Review on Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Ballerina Flats as seen with Jessica.

Well, I must say that this is my all time favorite- the Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Ballerina Flats. These flats are absolutely amazing for any occasion, they’re suitable for a casual trip to the mall or even a date at a fancy restaurant. I had never been too big a fan of Ferragamo, until these shoes blew my mind (excuse the exaggeration). There are also many designs so you can take a look here.

They’re very comfortable and give great foot support which is necessary in every shoe. Also, these shoes are elegant and classy and can match almost any outfit. Not only that, they are also durable and sturdy as mine have lasted since about a year and a half ago and they still look lovely.

However, like every other shoe out there, these shoes need to be broken in. On the bright side, i think it’s all worth it. Also, these shoes are really quite pricey, but i feel that they are a good investment, considering how long they last.

All in all, I feel that these are a fantastic pair of shoes and i can understand why Jessica would use them. They suit anybody’s style and are versatile. Although they have some drawbacks, i do think that they are still worth it.
