2013 Queen of the Airport Runway

The most viewed member of the year on Soshified Style. The winner of the Barbie Award from the Korean media. The Ice Princess who never gives the cold shoulder to fashion. All these personify Jessica, and in addition to all those superlatives, she also handily walked away as our winner for the member with the best airport fashion.

From the terminal to our hearts, Jessica constantly strutted her stuff in some of the best outfits on-display rarely suffering from wardrobe malfunctions. With her famous Linda Farrow sunglasses always at the ready,  Jessica walked through crowds like nobody was watching, doing so with an air of elegance…and with a manager in tow.

She showcased many brands throughout the year some examples included Chanel, Celine, Prada, Coach, the list goes on. Jessica somehow managed to make each brand fit, even when it shouldn’t have and did it with her famed “bored but beautiful” look on her face every time.

From all thank you for wowing us on a regular basis, and congrats on being our Airport Queen this year.

Jessica – The Most Viewed Member of the Year

Girls’ Generation’s ‘Ice-princess’ Jessica takes the title this year for ‘Most Viewed’ on Soshified Style yet again. Our consecutive winner raked in the majority of views out of all 9 members this year no doubt thanks to her consistent off-duty style and growing bag collection.

The task of dressing for a highly profile airport appearance is not to be taken lightly. To consider: photo-logs, awaiting fans, flight time and of course repeating the same process in a different location upon arrival. Never one to disappoint, Jessica always provides us with a well put-together outfit when making public appearances whether it be at the airport, on a TV program or at a fan-signing.

As if you needed another reason to crush on Jessica’s fashion style, her bag collection leaves nothing to be desired. Amassing a vast collection over this year, Jessica’s taste in expensive high-end bags has left us envious of the beautiful leather totes, to-die for Chanel shoulder bags and feeling light-headed at the Hermes bags.

Needless to say, many fans anticipate to see what Jessica’s next fashion-forward moment will entail.

Bag Brand of 2013

bagbrandres

Two years ago, the girls’ slight obsession with Mulberry and its iconic Alexa satchel made it as the most loved brand of bag. Though it put up a good fight as defending champion, French fashion empire Chanel snatched the title away winning this year’s Bag Brand of the Year.

The Chanel flap bag holds a lot of history about Coco Chanel, every aspect of the bag tells a story in her life. When Karl Lagerfeld took over Chanel as creative director and revamped the design of the bag (replacing the Mademoiselle turnlock with the double-C’s, double flap, etc.), he justified the bag as a paradox of being modest and sophisticated. That’s probably why it still remains a classic staple to fashion enthusiasts.

The girls are no strangers to the Chanel game; eight (except Seohyun) of them own a Chanel bag (or more). Their Chanels are usually flaunted at the airport, sometimes at public events and personal schedules. Their innocent crush on the brand started a few years ago but only now did that turned into a love affair. Jessica, especially, who is under the Chanel love spell had four different bags (not to mention her growing Chanel sneakers collection) in this year alone.

Most of them preferred the flap with turnlock design probably because it’s what defines Chanel most. Some went for the classics, like Yoona, Tiffany, and Hyoyeon; while some had more unique choices like Sunny and Jessica. Yuri and Taeyeon went for the modern and masculine twist and got the BOY Chanel bags.

The girls had different tastes in size, shape, and color of the bags; but their love for Chanel is what they had in common. And we hope it doesn’t stop any time soon.

Outfit of the Week

After a few “slow weeks”, the members had such a good showing this week channeling their inner fashionistas that we have not one, but TWO outfits that we feel are deserving of mention.

Stepping out at a STONEHENGE sponsored fansign, Jessica showcased a lovely deep green knee-length dress that perfectly accentuated her slim legs and well-proportioned torso. Under the dress she wore a feminine Oxford style blouse, essentially making it a two-piece ensemble save for the shoes. Her shoes were black heels, adding some height to one of the shorter members of the group, and her famous hair was done in a tasteful parted style with a slight wave to it.

Sooyoung on the other hand, opted for an even simpler look, consisting of just a dress, with no shirt underneath, or needed for the manner. But the dress didn’t it, anyway. A beautiful blue-on-cream piece, the dress accentuated her body to such a degree, it made her already statuesque figure look even taller (shocking, I know!), possibly even tall enough to walk the runways of Milan or London. Added on to that, her black heels with gold accents probably added another 3 inches, making her, well, I’m sure she turned some heads that day with her height and figure!

Congrats to both members on their winning outfits!
