Outfit of the Week
POSTED IN Outfit of the Week, Tiffany

Stepping out in this casual girly ensemble earlier this week, Tiffany scoops up Outfit of the Week out from under the other somberly dressed members. Though looking very tired from the extensive promotional duties as of late, our pink lover offered a inspiring winter look that not only looked comfortable and warm but also emulated Tiffany’s girly personality.

Tiffany layered up with a simple pale pink jacket with hot pink lapels, on top a white hoodie and sweater. The pink tones of the jacket compliment the red tint of Tiffany’s hair color, while the white color of the knitwear underneath offset the jacket perfectly.

Adding visual intrigue to the look, Tiffany accessorized with a stylish Louis Vuitton carryall and Miu Miu low cut sneakers. The accessories energize the look and stop it from being flat, while the black tights balance the outfit stopping it from being overall too sweet.

Simple straight locks finish the easy going look, we hope that Tiffany and the girls get more rest now that IGAB promotions are over.

Sunny: Hit or Miss?
POSTED IN Hit or Miss, Polls, Sunny | TAGGED:

To start of 2013, we have a newcomer to the Hit or Miss victims list. This time it’s Sunny, who was photographed wearing Black Studded Sneakers from ShoeSone at the recording of Koala Kid: The Outback.

These sneakers are really a love it or hate it item due to the exaggerated chunkiness of the soles, which may remind many of the McDonald’s clown’s iconic shoes. With Sunny being so petite, these high tops seem overwhelming for her body size. Fortunately, she has managed to avoid committing a catastrophic fashion crime since the rest of her outfit is nothing out of the ordinary.

Those of you who disagree may find Sunny’s sneakers edgy and unique. The studs do add fierceness and eccentricity to her overall look, but still, the shoes seem like a little too much.

What do you think of the sneakers?

SNSD: Hit or Miss?

With millions of fans waiting for a comeback, Girls’ Generation started the year with a revamped style and image. With a mix of brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Lazy Oaf seen in their music video, it was the use of Burberry Prorsum that had mixed reviews. The colorful metallic Burberry trench coats make their first appearance during Tiffany and Taeyeon’s powerhouse solo part with members wearing different colors of the trench coat, pairing it with orange fringe wigs.

Good highlights of this particular choice of outfit could perhaps be that it shows that the girls’ new approach in fashion and style. The outfit particularly symbolizes the girls losing their ‘cute and girly’ image, finally migrating into a more mature look. Furthermore, the trench coats highlight their silhouettes due to the by cinching their waists.

However, it seems that in this case the negatives of the outfit outweigh the positives by a wide margin. The styling of the look are far too identical, the girls may be wearing different colors of the coat, but the matching wig and even make-up makes it hard to determine each member.

Another would be the length of the trench coat, the original length makes it look sophisticated and modern as seen in the runway image above. In the music video, the coats however are cut to a mini length, making the trench appear tacky and cheap, and losing the original sophistication of the coat.

Notably, what really brings down the outfit would be the shoes, the shoes worn by girls do not compliment the trench coat’s color and style. Sooyoung pairs her blue metallic trench with neon strappy heels, the mix of extreme colors does not give the coat justice. The same goes with the glitter pumps worn by Jessica, Hyoyeon and Tiffany which further punctuates the tackiness of the look. Last but definitely not the least would be on the sneaker wedges worn by Yoona, Seohyun and Sunny. The shoes look too heavy for the high fashion coat and the overall style of it does not blend well with the high fashion feel of the trench coat. The trench coat is already a statement piece in itself, so it would have been better if it was paired with simpler heels or sandals.

So what do you think? Is this a high fashion risk or a fashion flop?

Outfit of the Week
POSTED IN Outfit of the Week, Yoona

A camera shy Yoona made her first public airport appearance this year at Incheon airport, earlier this week. Bundling up in a Zara leather lapel black coat, Yoona elevated the casual airport attire with a red plaid button up shirt adding intrigue to the dark ensemble.

Though this look is something we haven’t seen before and could have done without the black scarf; it exudes the casual next door style of Yoona’s we are so fond of with the use of her Comme des Garçon‘s sneakers and blue skinny jeans. Yoona polishes the outfit off with her edgy black coat and Alexander Wang bag.

The outfit is a nonchalant look that isn’t overly too fussy for a quick flight while livening up wardrobe staple items.
