Hey SONES! I welcome you to our new article, the Fashion Highs and Lows. We decided to add this article to input some variety into the usual utilitarian posts we have. We hope you enjoy reading it as I had much fun writing it and please support/comment on this to show your thoughts. Do you guys like it or not? Well without further ado here is the Fashion Highs and Lows of 2007.

FASHION LOW 2007
Let’s go back in time to 2007, when the girls first debuted and were rookies in the cruel and harsh world of entertainment. Here is one of their first major red carpet events. Such innocent lambs, putting their trust in their stylist to make them look decent, such ill advised faith, as the stylists turn out to be wolf in sheep clothing under the guise ‘London Pride’. Let’s take a deep breath and revisit that day.

The year: 2007, the event: Golden Disk Awards, and the fashion victims: So Nyeo Shi Dae

Here they have just arrived at the event; nervousness is evident in their face. When I first initially saw this picture I was horrified at Jessica’s and Sunny’s Outfit despite it being designer outfits (CLICK HERE) This does not bode well, and you can even see Jessica wondering why she even agreed to wear this outfit. My eyes move from the two most badly injured fashion victims to the rest. Yuri was one of the lucky ones, not wearing anything eye cringing but definitely very safe. Sooyoung looks …alright. I am struggling between condemning this outfit to fashion hell and letting it pass due to being next to Jessica’s horrid outfit. She is wearing flats…. TO A RED CARPET EVENT. And it’s not even a nice pair. I don’t care if it makes her less tall than everyone! This is no, no to me.

Tiffany should have lost the shawl which would have made the outfits a hundred times better, but she gets a pass. Yoona looks the best here, with her lovely white dress. Seohyun looks very demure. Hyoyeon should lose the Boa. Taeyeon the kid leader looks awesome.

Time to move now, and you can see the utter terror on Sunny’s Face (more on this later). I pray.

As you can see the three shortest are in the front making sure that the audience had a clear view of the other awful outfits.

Jessica’s gives a Head Bow of Shame and tries to make herself look smaller by wedging herself between Sooyoung and Yuri.

Perhaps I was being to harsh… I mean they probably look better from the back right?

No, I’m right. It still looks hideous from the back.

Jessica’s Evil Plot
As they sat down to the table, little did anyone know the mastermind of SNSD was at work plotting the demise of the stylists ‘London Pride’. Let us look at that conversation.

Yuri: Jessica I can’t believe you are wearing that, is this a dream, is this dress even real?!
Jessica: Sadly, yes

Jessica: You know we should plot revenge against ‘London Pride’ for making me-I mean us wear these horrible outfits! Like put salt into their cereals, or even better make salty kimbap for them!
Yuri: Mmm… That’s a good idea
Yoona: Another job for Choding Yoona!

*Insert Jessica’s Adorable Evil Laughter here*

Jessica: LOOK AWAY AND SMILE, pretend we never had that conversation.

I imagine it went something like that.

Acceptance Speech

Wow, of course out girls won the award for best rookie group.

Here is Jessica apologizing to the audience to subjecting their eyes at seeing this ugly outfit and giving shifty eyes to the camera.

Sunny’s Awesome Facial Expressions

Remember this picture the beginning when I said that Sunny was shocked into utter terror. Well it seem that the shock hadn’t worn off. And instead she went to shell shocked mode, unable to show her expression and instead was blank face the WHOLE EVENT. SNSD’s Energy pill was zapped of her energy due to the ugly outfit that was a cross between a 80s’ go go dancer, and a destroyed garbage bag. Shall we go see the evidence?

Honestly speaking London Pride is one of the most ill-reputably stylists out there. Wait until you see Fashion low pick 2008. Aside from the few saving graces Taeyeon, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohuyn. The rest were not looking so hot and fashionable.

Just so you know before I wrote this I was writing up the low picks of 2007 and 2008. So therefore my spirit was low, and thought hope was lost. Until I saw this red carpet @ MKMF Awards. Finally the red carpet done right. The year: 2007, the event: 2007 MKMF Awards, and the fashionistas: So Nyeo Shi Dae

The man holding the umbrella for Taengsic is obviously enamoured, and entranced by the Girls’ Beauty. That’s right stay transfixed.

Taeng clearly knows this and gives us a little smirk.

Yoona debating if Taeng’s smirk is a perverted one or self satisfied one. Readers pick a side!

Sooyoung’s Awesome Facial Expressions

Sooyoung is watching with eagle eyes for the missing members of SNSD to meet them at the red carpet.

Giving off a beaming smile she spots Hyoyeon! Waving enthusiastically she gives a warm welcome.

Hyoyeon cool as can be saunters to Yuri’s side and barely gives a glance to Sooyoung. Yuri sees this and gives a subtle smirk. Sooyoung is hurt… so hurt! She must have eaten all the food in the house is the reason for the cold reception. But I’m sure the girls will kiss and make up!

Photo-Op

Now it’s time for the Photo-op. The Flashing of the cameras, the gaggle of onlookers it’s heart attack inducing. The girls take it all in stride, impressive for their rookie days. Look at their genuine smiles! Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside that they aren’t at total disaster and they look happy.

Wait… why is Sooyoung giving a funny look at Seohyun? Is it because she is dressed awfully? No… Actually it’s because she resembles something….

MARSHMALLOW! The resemblance is UNCANNY!

Even though this is a fashion high there were some girls who missed the mark. I had to doc two points from both Taeyeon and Seohyun. Although the shade of white is great, they had on shapeless dresses. Here’s a tip to girls out there, wear shapeless dress that hides your curves and beauty. EVER. Also had to take away half a point from Tiffany’s and Sunny’s outfit for the fur trimmed… for obvious reasons. But aside from the above negativity. Everyone else looks stunning and angelic, a great way for the girls to start off their red carpet debut. The soft white hues, does display the innocence and charm that girls had making them glow. The hair styles were decent, and without fault. I especially loved the way that Hyoyeon looked, fashion terrorist title forgotten, the flair puff bottom, with the satin strapless top. Gave her curves, and a girlish feel which I loved. And her hair is amazing! MKMF Red Carpet you made me proud.
